Waiheke
Go on a wine tour and explore some of the most beautiful spots in New Zealand – only a half an hour ferry away. For something with a little extra excitement stop by the vineyard Wild on Waiheke where you can do laser clay bird shooting and archery. Accessible by ferry from the Viaduct ferry terminal – 5 minutes Uber or taxi, or 12 minutes’ walk. 

Rangitoto
Chuck on the exercise gear and take on Auckland’s biggest volcano – an hour’s climb and back. Accessible by ferry from the Viaduct ferry terminal – 5 minutes Uber or taxi from the hotel, or 12 minutes’ walk.

Piha and Bethells Beach
Ok you might need a car or to book a tour for this one but it’s a beautiful place if you can make it – think black sand beaches, beautiful bush walks and aw-inspiring views. 45 minutes’ drive.

Biking in Woodhill
Get your adrenaline fix with one of New Zealand’s fastest growing pastimes. With over 50 named trails from beginner to advanced, Mountain Biking at Woodhill appeals to people from all walks of life.  40 minutes drive from the hotel. Bike and gear hire available.

Mission Bay 
A 15-minute drive or 28-minute train from the hotel. Perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, beach swims and great fish and chips for dinner while watching the sunset.

Limited bar seats to watch the chefs at work but if you can get one it’s worth it – this food is amazing and personifies ‘kiwi cuisine’

A small and private Japanese restaurant only 1 minute from the hotel on Elliot Street. Best know for their goyza dumplings and killer miso soup
