Visited this hotel in the second week of December as part of a group tour to New Zealand.
Located about 40 minutes by car from the airport, it’s got the location spot on. On Albert Street, within walking distance from the Viaduct harbour.
Check in was fast and friendly though we had an early check in. Rooms are more than the average size though the fittings in some parts were showing age.
Staff was extremely helpful. One particular incident involving loud noise from the adjacent room was handled quickly and efficiently.
The breakfast spread was standard of any comparable four star property.
All in all, up to expectations and in some areas, surpassed them as well. Recommended.
This is a solid hotel in a very convenient location. The check in is smooth. Wifi if free and excellent if you are an IHG members.
The rooms have all the amenities and were spacious, quiet, clean and tidy. When we needed something, it was sent to the room very promptly by polite staff. Shower was excellent. My only grouse were the beds which were too soft for our liking.
I would say the best part about the hotel is the location. If you take the lift down to level 2, the escalator down and finally a left or right turn at the back entrance of the Crown Plaza, you will be in the middle of all the action. Great shops, Countdown Supermarket and wonderful restaurants are all just a stone’s throw away.
Would stay here again if in Auckland
Very happy with the hotel location and room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Staff at the front desk made every effort to find a room before the official check in time. Excellent meal in the restaurant.
Great location of hotel, beds were very comfy. No request was too hard for the staff team, I would recommend to anybody wanting a good quiet night rest. Ankit from concierge was very personable and great made some great recommendations. Also the T.V’s must be brand new and are a lot bigger than any hotel I have stayed in previously.
28 runners from California, USA, stayed at the Crowne Plaza Auckland. We all ran in the Auckland Marathon on October 30th. The entire staff and the hotel as a whole were accommodating and supportive. The day before the race there was a bottle of sports drink and an enthusiastic letter from the hotel wishing all runners good luck; a great, low-cost marketing tool. Rooms were spacious, staff was nice, the food was easy and reasonably priced. When the problem was reported with the air conditioning, maintenance responded quickly.
Beds were super comfortable, extra amenity of a spray for the linen, staff were courteous and helpful! Near the shopping areas such as Queen St and High St., the Viaduct harbor where you can take the ferries to Devonport , Waiheke and Rangitoto.
Stayed here for two weeks in September. The staff is really sweet and very accommodating. We arrived at 0830 and they let us check-in right away. Over the next two weeks, the staff was consistently helpful and pleasant, pointing out restaurants and booking tickets for us. Cong was particularly helpful. He booked bus tickets for us and found tickets to different attractions. If you need help with anything, go down and just ask at the concierge desk. They’ll be happy to help!
The beds are supremely comfortable. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The room is very quiet. If you’re looking for food, there is an abundance around the hotel. The ramen bar in the lobby is open for dinner on the weekdays and both lunch and dinner on the weekends. If you go down into the food court, there is a huge array of different kinds of asian food.
the hotel is convenient to everything in the CBD. Highly recommended.
Crowne Plaza is located in the heart of Auckland & a perfect place for school, pleasure or work functions. I spent four days at the hotel & appreciated so many things:
-international breakfast that included organic specialty coffee, fresh raw juices you can make yourself & many other options including miso soup, traditional American fare & fresh fruit.
-very comfortable beds
-milk in the fridge for your tea or coffee (this may seem odd to add but the other hotels I stayed in during my two weeks in NZ did not include it so worth noting!).
-Location is ideal for sightseeing, shopping & eating great food.
-10 minute walk to the port
